About
The image collection of the Riley County Historical Society & Museum dates back as early as the 1850s and extends up to today. We have been digitizing photographs, slides, and negatives for more than 20 years, and this is an ongoing process. Through this platform, we are pleased to share our digital collection with the public.
Only half of the 30,000 plus photographs in our collection have been digitized to date. We will continue to digitize others within the collection and add new images as they become available.
If you desire an image that has not yet been digitized and uploaded, please email Project Manager and Webmaster Hal Dace.
During your search, you may notice gaps in the catalog numbers. At this time, just one of our four collections (including Photographs, Objects, Archives, and Library) is available to the public through this platform: “Photographs” (which do not include works of art like paintings).
If you own historic photographs of Riley County or local residents that you would like to donate to the Historical Society, please review our Donation Policy and contact Curator of Collections Dawn Munger.
We hope you enjoy this resource! Thank you for your patronage and support of the Riley County Historical Society and Museum and Our Mission.
